Peer social and support groups

Through Together For You,  The Rainbow Project developed four peer and social support groups for LGB&/T individuals and their families resident in rural areas where there is no or limited LGB&T support network or structure.

Outside of the project, and with the help of volunteers, these groups will continue to meet regularly for those looking for peer support.  The groups will give you the opportunity to meet other LGB&/T people. Having LGB&/T family and friends helps to normalise the minority experience that many LGB&/T people experience.

The groups offer a safe, friendly, welcoming space for members of the LGB&/T community to meet up to socialise and build up their support network. The groups will help to reduce the social isolation many LGB&/T people across Northern Ireland may suffer from.

The groups meet at the following times and locations

Ballymena – Last Thursday of each month 7pm-9pm – venue is N-Gage, 3 Wellington St, Ballymena BT43 6AB

Enniskillen – Last Wednesday of each month – Venue is Fermanagh House, Broadmeadow Pl, Enniskillen BT74 7HR

Newry – Last Monday of each month – Venue is 28A Monaghan Street, Newry, BT35 6AA

Omagh – TBA
